Sports Report Autumn Term 2015
What a great start to our sporting achievements for the year, here at Tany’s Dell! I want to say a huge thank you to all the support parents have shown and the commitment the children have given to coming to after school clubs. I want to say a big thank you to Mrs Bourke who helps me not only at clubs but at all the festivals. Also, a big thank you to Rosie Bennett who has given up her free time to help and train on a Monday night.
Our first festivals were football. We were able to put in two teams for each of the competitions. They were Year 3/4, Girls, and 5/6. All the children played so well and we achieved our best result ever in the Year 3/4 event where we came ‘Runners up’ and won medals. Well done everyone who played. Some great matches were played and we learnt some new skills too.
A new event this year was Boccia and Curling. I am so proud of our teams who won the Curling event. Not only did they play well, but were a credit to Tany’s Dell in their behaviour. More medals for us!
Again in half term some children took part in the Swimming top up scheme. Well done to those who went every day and improved their swimming skills. Watch out for next half terms Swimming Top up.
Our Tag Rugby players did us proud. The Year 3’s played against some big Year 4’s from other schools. As Mr Stacy said’ Tanys Dell had the smallest team but the biggest smiles!’ As the Year 4’s were not able to play in the Year 3-4 Festival as I was able to take them to the Year 5-6 Festival. The children were amazing and did not stop running. The Year 5-6 team came runners up in our group, against the team who eventually won the whole tournament!
Another fantastic result has been our Dodge ball success. We have reached the final with two teams. There was some great tactical and determined play, as well as great behaviour shown whilst we waited for our matches.
A big thank you to the’ Friends of Tanys Dell’ who have bought us some tracksuits. They look very smart.
We have been awarded with the Sainsbury's Games Mark Silver Award. Please click the link below to find out more!
